kal and pal
Thought I’d try my hand at painting Jasnah. I think she could use a little more sass in her expression, but overall I’m happy.
Continue with Dalinar & Navani in flashbacks!
Okay so I finally finished Oathbringer and I’m glad Kaladin got a happy ending for this book (well, as happy as it gets for him anyway). I’m also really hoping for more Renarin next book BUT NOW I HAVE TO WAIT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WHY
yahhhhhh waiting sucks! i tell you it’s gonna feel so long until SA4, but it definitely looks like we are getting more and more Renarin in the future 😀 you can count on that
so let’s count down until… 2020… maybe early 2021… orz

A wholesome son
I just think it’s Great that pretty much every character in the Cosmere, when interacting with Hoid, has a tingle in the back of their brain that something is Wrong here. Sometimes explicit, sometimes only shown in that he’s mentioned in the text at all, and therefore noticed more than he should be, but always there. A tiny tingle reminiscent of a prey animal’s fight-or-flight instinct, but it’s not quite that, it’s just…something is Strange. Something is Out of Place, and their tiny lizard brains know it, whether they’re talking with the King’s particularly annoying Wit or some random beggar in some random town.
Every character, that is, except Shallan Davar, who sees him and is like, “OH THANK HERALDS, AN ADULT WHO BOTH UNDERSTANDS AND SUPPORTS ME,” to which Hoid is like, “…I’m sorry, what.”
From Syl’s point of view, these books are basically one of those cliche movies where the teenage girl really wants to race horses but her father won’t let her because her mother died racing horses; then there’s this one horse who won’t let anyone ride him but she KNOWS has the potential to be great, so she sneaks out and trains him and even though one time he throws her so her leg breaks and her dad freaks out, they eventually win the big race and save the farm. In the very end her dad begrudgingly pats the nose of the older but not quite retired racehorse who’s been begging him for sugar cubes every time he came to the stability to drag his daughter out, a sign that in the direct-to-dvd sequel, he may take up riding again as well.
The best part is that the role of the horse goes to the guy whose hatred for horses is a literal fandom meme
Dalinar & Evi. My favorite Stormlight couple (former) so far!
