Issues with Voltron Season 6 (Part 1)

echodrops:

So, since I made my last post, I lost three followers and got some rude anonymous private messages, whom I can only assume were from super gung-ho Voltron fans who didn’t want to hear that anyone dislikes the direction their favorite show has taken–fair, I guess. You do you!

However, I do want to clarify my position on season 6 and Voltron as a whole a little so that people don’t continue acting like my dislike is coming from nowhere or that I’m spewing ungrounded criticism.

The bottom line is that I feel like this show could have been better, and I’m criticizing it because, as a fan, I feel let down that it wasn’t. I wanted Voltron to be amazing on all counts–visually, aurally, and in its narrative. The animation and sound of this season more than lived up to expectations… but the narrative just didn’t.
