During GDC week I was thrilled to be able to nab one of Songbird Ocarina’s very first “Ocarinas of Light”, aptly named Synesthesia. This instrument has a microphone inside which detects the pitch you’re playing and matches it to a specific color with LEDs. It’s really everything I wish my oboe could do.
Here’s a sample of this enchanting ocarina 🙂 Enjoy!
“after one long season of waiting, after one long season of wanting, i am breaking open. my insides are pink and raw. and it hurts me when i move my jaw, but i am taking tiny steps forward. and i… i feel sure that my wounds will heal. and i, i will bloom here in my room. with a little water. and a little bit of sunlight. and a little bit of tender mercy, tender mercy.”
this song got me through so many scary days. sad, sick, spooky days when i felt like all my raw wounds were gonna bleed forever. i would float on my back in the swimming pool and hum this to myself. it softened the rough edges.
one of my friends found radiooooo which is a site that streams music from any country from any decade (well, most countries/decade combos work) and we’ve been digging going on a quest to find what is rad
