Much like its sibling show, Daredevil, Jessica Jones’ uses very careful and symbolic choices when it comes to lighting, set dressing, props, and wardrobe.  But there are a couple instances that I noticed where the color significance went much deeper.

For example, what do the thumbdrive containing information about Kilgrave’s past and the sundress that Jessica was wearing when she realized that Kilgrave’s powers didn’t work on her have in common?

They’re both connected to Jessica actually having power over/against Kilgrave, and they’re both…

Why is this interesting?

Because as anyone who’s taken a basic art class knows, every one of the 6 primary and secondary colors that comprises the color wheel has a color that is its opposite and complements it.  And guess which color is opposite/complimentary of yellow… Yep. PURPLE.  AKA  Kilgrave’s signature color.  

Just little details that I noticed that I thought were very interesting and clever.  And they show just how well thought out this show is!
