I can’t stop thinking about Mollymauk and his identity issues, and how much they relate to the protean Taliesin Jaffe we see on the screen.

Every tattoo, every piercing, every piece of outrageous clothing is Molly’s way of making the body his own. 

With each chain he adds to his horns, he says, “I can do this because this body is me, and I can do as I want with it.”

With each piercing, he thinks, “I will make this body so much mine, it could never be mistaken for anyone else.”

With each bright shirt, he smiles in the mirror. “Yes. That is who I am. I see me.”

Yet still he meets people who call him by the wrong name, who don’t see him, who remember some other person in the body he has claimed.
